The Carbon Institute

Big Idea:

The Carbon Institute develops simpler and better methods to accurately account for carbon emissions and gets those methods into play in countries where it matters most. The better governments can measure, the better they can reduce. The Carbon Institute identifies and trains the experts that governments rely on to help measure and manage carbon.

John-O studied and published extensively on carbon and forests at Stanford. He’s led big initiatives to save forests by monetizing carbon and human benefits, including Tropical Forest Group, WWF’s Climate & Forest Program, the Climate, Community and Biodiversity Alliance, and the Coalition for Rainforest Nations.
