Laurent Micol

PECSA

Big Idea:

PECSA (Pecuária Sustentável da Amazônia/Sustainable Livestock of the Amazon), a for profit company, prevents deforestation from cattle ranching. They make ranches healthy, providing outsourced land management to dramatically increase productivity and profit while protecting forests and water.

Laurent went to business school in Paris and worked in strategy consulting, making his way to Bain & Co in São Paulo. In Brazil, he shifted his focus to land use strategy and deforestation. Before he established PECSA, he held senior roles at ICV, a leading Brazilian NGO working to protect the Amazon rainforest.
