Dandelion Energy designs, manufactures, installs and maintains geothermal ground-source heat pumps for homeowners in the US to reduce a big and neglected source of emissions: household heating and cooling. If they can make geothermal heating more affordable than fuel-based systems (which aren’t cheap), homeowners will adopt geothermal and we’ll see renewable heating systems at scale.
Kathy initially started Dandelion as a project at X, Alphabet's innovation lab. She was a Product Manager for the team tasked to find “Moonshots”—business opportunities to harness technology for large-scale impact. She graduated from Stanford with a BS in Civil Engineering and an MS in Computer Science.
