Fundación Natura

Big Idea:

Fundación Natura Bolivia creates deals where beneficiaries of downstream municipal water sources pay for upstream conservation. They’ve developed 41 Municipal Reciprocal Watershed Agreements in Bolivia that protect 550,000 acres of Bolivian tropical forest.

Maria Teresa has been implementing and researching market-based mechanisms for conservation for a couple of decades. She studied at Yale’s School of Forestry.
