Barbara Bush

Global Health Corps

Big Idea:

Why we chose Barbara as a Fellow

Barbara believes that health is a human right and that young leaders from diverse backgrounds are critical to solving the world's greatest health challenges. She also believes that a global movement of people and organizations fighting for improved health services for vulnerable communities is necessary in order to change an unacceptable status quo.

We need a new generation of capable, motivated leaders in global health. They need to understand the world of the poor and what it means to do something effective in that world. Global Health Corps puts young people with relevant skills and real leadership potential into high-impact organizations for a year of learning and contribution. With that experience under their belts, they become part of an active alumni network that maintains a culture of service and a platform for mutual support as they move through their careers.
