Hunter-gatherers and pastoralists still manage land communally, but their way of life and their ecosystems are under siege. They can't protect the land if they can't make a living on it.
About Paine
Paine took over as Executive Director in 2020 after 10 years at UCRT. Among other roles, she worked as a field facilitator to launch and support women’s networks and women’s rights advocacy. Paine represented East Africa and Africa in the highest governing body of the International Land Coalition (The Global Council). She holds a Masters in Climate Change and Sustainable Development.
