Save lives on India's roads.
How It Works
SaveLIFE creates a systematic set of design and retrofit interventions for various kinds of roads—mostly freeways and small highways—that governments can use to make them much safer. Much of this is doable infrastructure design, but their interventions also include driver behavior changes, police enforcement, and emergency healthcare systems.

Why We're In
Better design—including retrofitting—is a hugely leveraged solution as governments hustle to build infrastructure. SaveLIFE has shown that these packaged interventions drop the number of deaths by 50% even when traffic increases. They've proven themselves remarkably adept at policy and legislation change—the Indian national government wants to scale their approach to 100 new districts and they are starting to work with the World Bank, which funds most road infrastructure in poor countries.
