How It Works
Ecosafi uses a fuel-subscription model to flip the equation that has plagued the clean cookstove industry: They give people the best stove on the market, then sell them the pellets made from waste biomass to fuel it. Each stove comes with a contract to buy a certain amount of pellets from a convenient location.
The Dream
Poor households use high quality stoves and buy clean fuel at a price point less than charcoal.
Why We're In
Ecosafi has developed the cleanest, most efficient biomass stove on the market and a business model that gets it to the people who need it most. They've manged to bolster their bottom line with solid carbon credits. If this goes big it could make charcoal and its ravages a thing of the past.
