Well...It's to Educate Girls.
How It Works
Educate Girls does exactly that: educate girls. They manage a massive volunteer network to go door to door in low-enrollment districts and get girls in school, often overcoming cultural and economic barriers in rural areas. These volunteers also teach literacy and numeracy in grades 3-8. They've now launched a program to help older youth (15+) who didn’t finish school get their 10th grade credential to get jobs or further their education.

Every girl in India enrolls and succeeds in school.
Why We're In
Educate Girls nailed enrollment and retention for 1.4M girls, with big learning gains as well. They’ve transitioned their work to government in their first district and are on track to prove that the impact endures—we’re optimistic. Their new program, Pragati, envisions virtual schools to help older girls—and women—complete basic education degrees. It's early but could be a game-changer if it works.
