How It Works
Farmerline has created a network of agricultural dealers that help finance high-quality inputs, provide digital advice, and buy crops for sale to international buyers. What makes the whole thing work is a proprietary software platform, MergData, that allows them to efficiently enroll, train, and communicate with farmers. It also makes their supply chain transparent to international commodity companies, so farmers can be rewarded for good environmental practices.

Why We're In
We think that the future of Africa’s farmers is with businesses, not NGOs. This is a great example of an ambitious team with business chops and a demonstrated commitment to farmers’ prosperity. Their tech platform is impressive, coordinating work with 1.7 million farmers. A new AI-powered advisory product will likely drive more impact, and in a tough financing environment, they've managed to stay ahead of the curve.
